S1P receptor modulators are currently used to treat ulcerative colitis that is moderate to severe.
They work by preventing inflammatory cells from reaching the affected area and cause inflammation.
How are S1P receptor modulators given?
S1P receptor modulators can be taken once daily, by mouth, with or without food.
Depending on the medication, you may need a starter pack with a specific dosing schedule for the first week.
For maintenance doses, you will take it once a day, at the same dose.
