How do JAK inhibitors work?
JAK inhibitors block proteins in immune system cells that cause inflammation in IBD.
How are JAK inhibitors given?
JAK inhibitors can be taken as pills by mouth, with or without food.
In most cases, you will receive a higher dose for the first 8 to 12 weeks (starter doses).
For maintenance doses, you will take it once or twice daily, depending on the specific medication.
